Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman and CEO of ETBL Holdings Ltd., has been re-elected as President of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh). The decision was made unanimously at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), with the new Executive Board confirmed on Sunday. Rahman will serve for the next two years, according to a press release issued by ICC Bangladesh.
Mahbubur Rahman currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) and Chairman of Eastland Insurance PLC. He previously held leadership roles as President of the FBCCI and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI). He has also served as Vice President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At Sunday’s board meeting, two Vice Presidents were also elected: Rupali Haque Chowdhury, President of the Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and A.K. Azad, former FBCCI President and Managing Director of Ha-Meem Group.
The new Executive Board includes prominent leaders from Bangladesh’s major trade and industry associations, such as FBCCI Administrator Md. Fazlul Haque, DCCI President Taskin Ahmed, MCCI President Kamran T. Rahman, Chittagong Chamber President Mohammad Amirul Haque, BIA President and MP Saeed Ahmed, BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem, BTMA President Shawkat Aziz Russell, LFMEAB President Syed Nasim Manzur, and several leading corporate executives including Kutubuddin Ahmed (Envoy Textiles), Anwar-ul-Alam Chowdhury Parvez (Evince Group), Aftab ul Islam (IOE Bangladesh Ltd.), Mir Nasir Hossain (Mir Akhter Hossain Ltd.), Abdul Hai Sarker (BAB), Tapan Chowdhury (Square Textiles), and Simeen Rahman (Transcom Group).
